Can supermarket coffee still help me learn basic taste differences?

The more beginner content I read about learning from supermarket coffee, the less sure I become. Some guides make it sound very important, others say do not worry about it yet. I want to build good habits, but I also do not want to drown in details too early.
If you were explaining learning from supermarket coffee to someone at the very beginning, what would you say matters first?

I would not stress too much about learning from supermarket coffee at the start. Good habit and curiosity matter more than getting every technical point right immediately.

About learning from supermarket coffee, I think beginner should first look for repeatable habit, not perfect theory. Coffee becomes easier when one small routine feels stable.

I remember being confused by learning from supermarket coffee too. Usually the hardest part is that many answers are partly true, but they come from different contexts.

For a beginner, learning from supermarket coffee should be simple enough that you can actually test it yourself. If advice cannot be tested at home, it is not very helpful yet.

What helped me with learning from supermarket coffee was comparing only one change at a time. When too many things move together, beginner cannot learn what caused the difference.
