How do you keep loyalty program interesting after the first month?

In my market more operators are starting to talk about keeping a coffee loyalty program interesting. The idea sounds good in meeting, but I am not sure how well it survives in daily business. We all want something sustainable, not only something that looks smart online.

If you have experience with keeping a coffee loyalty program interesting, where does it usually fail and where does it actually work?

What changed my mind about keeping a coffee loyalty program interesting was seeing repeat behavior, not first-week excitement. Coffee business always has ideas; the rare thing is ideas that stay healthy.

in Indonesia i often see keeping a coffee loyalty program interesting sound exciting in beginning, but after some weeks the discipline go down. so i think system is more important than hype.

My impression is that keeping a coffee loyalty program interesting looks stronger from outside than inside. Customer may like it, but if the team feels overloaded the long-term value drops fast.

I would not reject keeping a coffee loyalty program interesting at all, but I think many operators start it too early. First the core operation must be calm, then extra initiative has better chance.
