the local roaster movement is collaborative?

i'm hearing more and more about the Nordic coffee model, where roasterroaster top Scandinavian know each other, respect, there is culture for sharing knowledge without fear of being stolen. And the effect is that industry is overall so it's more advanced.

In Indonesia, I feel this is starting to happen in some cities, but it's still very sporadic. There's a city that's a community of ZZZCF003Zs that's tight and supportive, there's a totally frated and competitive.

What makes one city better collaboration than another roaster? Is it about the individual being there, or are there any structural states that are enable or disable this collaboration?

according to my experience, cities or communities that have collaborated with the powerful roaster that usually starts with one or two people who deliberately invest in time to create that space sharing. It's not happening alone, somebody's pushing.

di kota gw ada grup wa roaster yang lumayan aktif. sebatas share info dan kadang diskusi. belum sampe ke kolaborasi konkret, tapi ada fondasi kepercayaan yang mulai terbentuk dari interaksi casual itu.

that healthy competition can actually drive collaboration, not impediment. If the market is total growing because of all the local roaster push quality together, all benefits. That's market stuck, new zero-sum game.

this is what people often pick up. combination with competitors doesn't mean total markets are divided, but it could mean total market grows faster. the doll market can grow together.

i think the biggest obstacle in Indonesia is pride and individual ego. Some people don't want to share because they're afraid of seeing how you love the competition. but ironically the most successful was precisely the most generous with knowledge.

dari sisi yang lebih struktural: ada beberapa community lab atau shared cupping space yang mulai jadi node untuk interaksi lintas roaster. kalau ada physical place yang jadi common ground, kolaborasi lebih mudah terjadi organically.
