just got back from that cupping session with another roaster I thought was a competitor. Turns out we're talking about the possibility of joint buying Zgreen bean due to minimal orders from some microlot suppliers are equally unattainable.

pernah collab roaster lain buat satu event. sharing nama di banner, sharing booth. lumayan banget buat reach ke audience yang belum kenal.

in my town there's an informal group of roaster that meets every 6-8 weeks. More of a sharing knowledge than a direct business. But from there a few times it's a concrete collab.

most common problems: ego is real. there has to be a clear deal from the start about credit.

the most workable way: one side to lead brand, one to "featured." clear hierarchy from the start so there's no disco in the middle of the road.

or make a special collab label that's not one of them. take a new name together. has anyone tried this?

the most low-risk start: joint cupping even. two roaster bring each product, spread together to the audience. Don't need big capital and be able to build trust before further collaboration.

colllab equals roaster, which is a very different specialist, which is more smooth than the exact overlap. If both focus on the natural Ethiopia, for example, there is a friction. If one focus washed one natural focus, the audience was more comprehensive.
