Why are more teams adding simple backup scales instead of trusting one main packing scale?

I notice more roasteries keeping simple backup scales near packing, even when they already have one main trusted unit. Maybe teams learned that one small calibration issue or sudden failure can slow the whole line more than expected. Why are backup scales becoming a more common equipment habit now?

Because one tiny scale problem can stop a lot of finished coffee from moving.

Yes, small backup tools often protect flow better than one expensive centerpiece.

Backup scale is cheap compared with waiting line when main unit suddenly acts strange. It is boring investment but very practical one.

Also good for checking drift before it becomes a packaging error.

Redundancy feels wasteful until the day it saves shipping time.
