Are hopper magnets and foreign-object traps still treated too casually in many roasteries?

Simple protection hardware like hopper magnets and foreign-object traps still seems to get less attention than software or bigger machine upgrades. But one small metal fragment incident can damage equipment and trust very quickly. Are these simple safeguards still treated too casually in many roasteries?

Yes. Simple equipment often loses priority because it is not exciting to talk about.

It should be part of normal line design, not treated like later accessory.

This kind of hardware looks basic, but if one bad incident happens, all people suddenly remember why it should be there from start.

Preventive hardware rarely gets praise because success means nothing dramatic happened.

Many teams wait until they process more origins and more handling steps.
