Is roasting blend components separately becoming more useful again for cafe espresso?

Some cafe teams around me are talking again about roasting blend components separately instead of chasing one profile that fits all parts. It gives more control, but labor and consistency pressure go up too. Is separate component roasting becoming useful again for cafe espresso, or only nice on paper?

For stable cafe blend it can be very useful, especially when components age differently.

Yes, benefit is real when each component has clear job. If not, separate roasting just makes more work.

Useful yes, but only if production discipline is strong.

Otherwise it becomes complexity with no extra money.

I like it for higher-end espresso, not for volume menu.

Single profile for all components can hide one coffee too much.
