early open, i'm sure it's a coffee business. nice sourcing, skilled barista, seriously-thought menu.

but getting here, the customer drive is more into vibe, playlists, interiors, communities that gather here, who's the photograph here. the coffee itself is almost secondary for most of the guests.

it's confusing for me: should invest more on the coffee side or the lifestyle side? because both of them need a special source.

the question shouldn't be either or but what's positive for your cafe. if you're more of a specialty coffee destination, the customer comes in because of coffee, and they're high expectations. if you're more of a third place for work and social, the customer is different.

yes and two positioning is valid, just a different strategy for products, pricing, marketing and experimentation.

that long-term coffee shop that's got reason to exist is clear and consistent. whether it's about the coffee being outstanding, the middle one and not committed to the one that's hard to survive.

from what i've noticed, the owner of the cafe from the specialty coffee background tends to over-invest into coffee side and underinvest into the hospital side. there's the opposite. both sides should be enough.

i didn't come to the cafe because of the coffee. because the place is good for music while working. if it's okay, it's worth it. if it's bad, it's not coming back. but coffee is not the reason i came.

this is a very important customer perspective. most baristas and owners talk about coffee, but the custom majority is more like this.

both. but the hierary: coffee should be at least acceptable so people don't come back. on top of the threshold, the lifestyle drives major of the decision. so coffee is factoral, lifestyle is differentiator.
