Robusta is the Future? Or is it just Tren because of Climate Change?

Robusta used to be seen in person. But now there's a lot of talk: "robusta is the future." The reason that makes sense is more heat-resistant, more severe in disease, and more stable in production than the more sensitive arabica.

What's interesting is that now it's also starting to appear much better in robotics than we thought. So the question is, is this a temporary trend due to the climate conditions, or are we on our way to the big shift in the coffee industry? You, yourselves, better believe the future stays in arabica, or will the robusta take a bigger role?

Robusta has an undeniable adaptability of higher temperatures, more disease-resistant, yield per acre greater. But the quality ceilings are still deep beneath the Arabica premium. If future context is a survival species in the middle of a climate change, If it's a special context market, I'm not sure yet.

i've tried Zroast Robusta specialty from Uganda with Vietnam Fine Robusta several times. The results are quite surprising. There's a scoreable above 80 equally experienced cupper. Well, it does get bigger if the process is serious. So don't lose sight of it before it's decent.

Arabica is king and that's not gonna change. That robusta works on espresso blend for cheap production costs, or make the untrained roast right. Fine robusta is too small for future.

i don't agree. Fine Robusta from Uganda who I roast did yesterday score 82 just as experienced cupper from outside. If still saying Robusta was just for the "roast" thing, then you've never been serious. Maybe try before the dismiss.

there's also a study on Arabic hybrids, Robusta being developed, like Centroamericano or some varieties of Timor hybrid derivative. climate adaptation is better than pure Arabic but flavor profile is much closer to Arabica. This is what I find more interesting than a pure Robusta versus Arabica debate.

i'm new to the industry and I'm trying to study. Robusta is always cheaper huh from Arabica? Is that the standard? Or is there a Robusta that costs as much as Arabica Specialty?

Vina Oktaviani: saya masih baru di industri ini dan coba belajar. Robusta itu selalu lebih murah ya dari Arabica? apa memang standarnya begitu? atau ada Robusta yang harganya setara Arabica specialty?
robusta is often cheaper than arabika though

'Robusta is the Future 'that's too strong a statement. If you want to be more precise as possible: Robusta will become more relevant and can no longer be ignored in the future due to climate change pressure. But it's different from replacing Arabica. complement is more precise than replacement.
