i got my own green bean, roast, What's wrong?

oke gw lg frustrasi bgt nih jujur.

jadi gw beli green bean Ethiopia Yirgacheffe natural dari importir, harganya lumayan mahal, katanya flavor profilenya harusnya blueberry floral dll. gw roast sendiri pake mesin Hottop B-2K+ yg udah gw pake hampir setaun.

hasilnya setelah gw cupping... flat. hambar. ga ada blueberry, ga ada floral, yg ada cuma rasa kopi biasa. kayak kopi sachet tapi pahitnya kurang.

gw udah nyoba:
- grinder burr baru (comandante)
- air filtered
- timbang dosis 1:15
- suhu 93C

masih flat. apa yg salah? apa emang gw kurang bagus roast-nya? apa bean-nya kena masalah di jalan? apa ekspektasi gw kecolongan?

tolong bantu gw... udah keluar duit lumayan ini

don't panic yet. First question: what level are you? If Yirgacheffe is naturally at Zroast to medium or darker than that, the flavor florals will be closed. That bean should especially light Zroast let the character out.

roast level me. honestly I don't know exactly. I stopped in about 210C after first crack. It's a light. What's a medium?

210C after the fc is possibly medium. Try to stop early, 205C or even 202-203C, development time 15-18%. Yirgacheffe naturally needs to be treated more carefully if he wants to get out.

one more thing to forget: resting time. natural process needs a rest longer than washed. 5-7 days after Zroast was just tried. If direct cupping after roast or 1-2 days, the result is that the flat because CO2 is still huge and the aroma nutupin.

oh, no. I'm cupping on day two. This means it's probably not the wrong ride?

it's a possibility. Try saving it for another five days and then cupping rewind. If the blueberries are starting to show up, then the bear is okay, just needs some time.

i was the same way I was the first time as roast. Straight cupping, straight up disappointed, straight back to washed. It turns out after a week of trying again it feels completely different. Now it's natural

jangan lupa water temperature juga. 93C untuk light roast natural bisa kekurangan ekstraksi. coba naik ke 94-96C. natural process density bijinya beda sama washed, butuh suhu sedikit lebih tinggi buat ekstraksi optimal.
