coffee goes into cosmetics, fashion, to the hotel program, is it long or is it just trending?

recently the coffee cross- industry is getting plenty. There's coffee scrubs that are staple beauty products, there's fragrance coffee, there's hotels that push specialty coffee program as part of guest experience, there's even brand fashion that colllab is just roasted merch

Which is interesting: it's not just "coffee sold outside the cafe," but coffee as a lifestyle signifier that goes into other industries as an element in their product

You see this phenomenon as the expansion of genuine from the coffee culture or more to the opportunity marketing that won't be viable?

coffee as premium lifestyle symbol is already highly established in several markets. when a brand wants to positive themselves as premium and modern, associate with specialty coffee it shorthand the effective. it's not cynical, it's a natural extension of the cultural capital that's been built by coffee culture.

from marketing standpoint, the coffee scrub was sold on narrative: is any claim to the benefit of the coffee scrub's scientifically bullet proof? but the narrative works.

from the coffee industry side alone, cross-industry collaboration it can offer exposure to the consumer that previously wasn't on the coffee- space. Someone who buys coffee scrub or coffee Zfragrance might start more interned with the sourcee, open pathway to specialty coffee journey.

the hotel specialty coffee program that i saw was the most meaningful of all these cross- industry. because there's a serious commitment from the hospiality side: training staff, curating beans, proper equipments, and it's a direct upgrade of a very agile experience for guest. not just slapping a logo, but integrations are proxy.

what matters sometimes is that the coffees are just tokenistic: it uses the coffee culture more than it contributes to. the difference is often unclear from the outside.

anybody know about the cross-industrial coffee collaboration in Indonesia that's been going on long enough and it's genuine on both sides? Not that it's just a hype and then it's gone
