is coffee mixed with Lion's Mane worth it, or is it just a gimmick?

i've seen a lot of functional coffee on the market lately. most likely. it's a copy of lion's mane mushroom, said it helps focus and brain health.

have you ever tried a package and it tastes good, not too weird. but i'm not sure if the effect of lion's mane really works when mixed into hot coffee, or the active compound is damaged first.

does anyone have experience or know more about this? is this functional coffee trend going to develop or will it fade out like any other trend before?

it's about the stability of hericenones and erinacines at high temperatures. some of the literature says the compound is pretty heat stable, others say there's degradation over 80 degrees. the product majority uses processed extractions, not the whole mushroom, so doses and biovariability are different depending on the process.

That L-theanine has more of his recipe to combine with caffeine. Not from mushrooms, but naturally in tea. Some of the functional coffee products have started adding L-theanine to smooth out the jitters of caffeine. That caffeine + L@@.

this side of the business obviously has a fever. the wellness market and coffee market are two both grown-up markets, a reasonable overlay and a proprietary one. the problem is that many products are more easy to label "wellness" than to actual clinical evidence solid.

from the taste side that i tried myself: there's earthness coming up but not too dominant. it's cheap. there's usually a disturbing sense of anxiety. if you want to try, select a version with a clear source of fungi and a transparent extraction process.

the same skeptic cognitive claim benefit from the smallest dosage in the coffee sachet. the research available for lion's mane usually uses the dosage a lot higher than it can get into one cup of coffee. that doesn't mean it's not worth it at all, but the brain-boost claim of one cup is questionable.

any idea if there's a BPOM regulation for the functional coffee products in Indonesia? Wonder how this wellness claim got in the packaging without a clear disclassizer about its level evidence.
