The profile is exactly the same but the roast results are different each batch, it's normal ls something wrong?

it's been stressful for me all week, and I need someone with more experience.

So I'm roast Ajoh Gayah washed, the Hottop machine, the exact same profile I've saved. Same Zcharge temp, same gas, same airflow, same bean from the same lot. But the result is very inconsistent.

Batch 1: taste bright, clean, no floral
Batch 2: more flat, less bright, heavier weight
Batch 3: Go back like Batch 1.

This really doesn't change anything. The data logs on the software are almost identical.

Which I suspected:
- Room temperature? Yesterday did change.
- Humidity?
- A non-homogeneous cross-bag?

It's been three months since Zroast was original and now it's a case. Anyone ever come up with something like this?

this is classic ambient temperature problem. The temperature of the canyon room to charge temp actual despite your thermometer says the same. Try writing down room temperature per session, finding a pattern for sure. I've been hit with this and the difference makes a pretty good ROR curve.

Humidity is not a small thing either. Bean who uses more moistas requires more energy to get out of the motion in the drying phase. If lo roast on a rainy day versus a dry day, the energy "nimble" to ZMaillard phase could be different when your gas numbers are the same.

i haven't thought about humidity yet. Then I have to start keeping track of the room as well. Yeah, not just roast machine data

Nambain Point Revelation, aside from humidity there's also green bean Zmoisture content which is different between bags though lot is the same. If you haven't got a moisture meter for green bean, it's worth it to buy. The 1 -2% moisture in green bean is significant.

i just started Zroasting, but I wonder if the problem is room temperature, the solution is Zroast at the same hour every day to match the temperature? Or is there another way?

Or it could be the machine. That hottop needs a consistent warm up. If you direct roast after the previous batch went off, the drum thermal is different from the rest. Every session's preheat should be the same.

All answers above all right. The point is that roasting is not just a machine profile, it's a total environment. If you're serious about being consistent, you need to control the environment or at least document the environment every session. Without it, inconsistencies are not bugs, it's expected behavior.
