sample is good but when the shipment comes, it's different. is this normal industry?

it's been three times this past year: the sample that was sent before the deal was solid, but the time full-ships came and I had a cup again, there was quite a difference. Not all lot, but often enough to get me started questifying the QC process on sourcing.

Moisture is different sometimes. If storage between samples and Shipments is different conditions, 5-10% of the moisture variation is possible, let alone not using GrainPro or hermetic bag.

Anybody have an experience deal with this situation? What's the industry's standard on tolerance for the difference between sample types and sample arrivals?

the discrepancy of samples versus arrivals is a classic problem and almost all of the customers whose volume has ever encountered this. proper practice is asking the pre-shape sample of the same lot before it's on-ship, not just representation sample.

i've been stuck in this situation and the contract has no clauses related, so want to claim a hard compensation. Now there's always gonna be an SOP written about sample reference and what happens is that arrival quality is below.

could be handling the transit. If the container has extremes heat or humidity swing huge, especially in the shape-shifting through the equator, the motive can change quite efficiently. GrainPro's investment worth it to lot the quality-sensitive.

GrainPro but stack with less props in the container can also be problematic. The physical pressure from another lot on top could collapse into his general integrity.

industri punya toleransi informal: beda 1-2 cupping point itu masih acceptable, lebih dari itu bisa jadi dasar reclaim. tapi karena cupping itu subjektif dan gak ada lab yang standar untuk semua buyer, proving case itu susah.

some use cupping protocol as reference and some use cupping's own protocol. If you want a standard that can be used as a base claim, if you can specialize in contracts, use your protocol for evaluation.

my experience: a really good supplier. it's proactive inform. it's a great signal of trust.
