dari data Dubai Customs 2023, UAE re-export kopi itu udah $220 juta per tahun. DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) punya free trade zone dengan fasilitas storage dan processing yang significant. mereka secara aktif attract coffee trader dan roaster dengan insentif.

Singapore selama ini jadi hub tradisional untuk Southeast Asian green coffee trade, terutama untuk transaksi finansial dan arbitrase. tapi Dubai aggressive masuk ke physical handling juga.

Geneva masih dominan untuk hedging dan derivatives, Rotterdam untuk physical bulk di Eropa.

yang menarik dari Indonesia: kalau buyer Timur Tengah makin banyak lewat Dubai, itu bisa simplify logistics dan payment untuk exporter kita. ada yang udah punya pengalaman transaksi via Dubai hub?

Singapore still has an edge of its financial services and legal framework for trade funds. Dubai is competitive in physical storage and re-export but for the complexity of contract and hedging, Singapore is more solid.

Dubai is interesting because zero tax environment and its geographical position is good for service Middle East, East Africa and South Asia at once. The guests from the Gulf-state regions were fast-growing copies and they were prefer hubs.

from the small exporter side of Indonesia, these two hubs are not so different practically because we're mostly deal with brokers or importers who already have presents there. What matters is knowing which pool of buyers is active where.

it's true. For UCM, the hub is abstract. The concrete is a relationship with an importer or a trader who has access to the buyer in the hub.

anyone observe that rising importance of Dubai was partially driven by the coffee special demi of the young generation in Gulf? Saudi, UAE, Qatar cafe culture is growing fast.

specialty cafe culture at the Gulf region is genually surpassing if it's never been there. Some of Gulf's towns have a very serious specialty scene, the density of roastery per capita is even higher than some European cities.
