Is decaf roasting becoming more difficult now because buyers still expect fresh-crop clarity?

Decaf roasting feels more demanding now because buyers still expect sweetness and clarity almost like fresh crop caffeinated coffee. I can make it drinkable, but making it lively is another story. Are others also finding decaf expectation rising faster than roasting tolerance?

Yes, people forgive less now. They want decaf to taste normal, not like compromise.

Agree on narrow window. I often feel there are only few seconds between dull and harsh.

Customer compare decaf with regular menu more now. If cup is little flat, they notice very quick.
