Are freight insurance claims becoming harder to win when green coffee quality drops in transit?

Some importers say freight insurance sounds good on paper, but when green coffee quality drops after delay, humidity, or rough handling, the claim is very hard to win. The coffee is not fully destroyed, only worse. Are insurance claims now becoming more frustrating than useful for this kind of problem?

Yes, because they want very clear physical damage. Quality drop from long transit is harder to prove, even if everyone can taste it later.

Agree. Sensory loss is business damage, but not always easy legal damage.

This one really difficult. Many time importer know quality changed, but document to support claim not enough. Insurance side always ask more proof.

We started documenting container condition more carefully before loading and after arrival. Without that, the argument goes nowhere.

Insurance helps only if your case matches their language. Many coffee problems sit in the grey area.
