Are roasters starting to prefer processing consistency over extreme cup scores?

Some exotic lots still get attention, but more buyers around me ask if the lot can repeat same behavior every batch. A coffee can score high one time and still become headache in production roast. Is consistency now stronger value than one big score?

For daily roasting yes, consistency wins more often. One crazy lot can impress, but if second container is different, nobody is happy.

From roaster side here, stable behavior is easier to sell too. Very high score is nice, but if every roast needs different correction, team gets tired.

Buyers for cafe chain ask this directly now. They do not want surprise every week.

Yes, especially for blends. Consistency saves more money than one spectacular table.

Cup score still opens the door, but repeated quality keeps the contract. I think market is maturing.
