Grass leaves and fruit powder fall down, you ever get hit bad?

last year lost almost 35% of the projections due to the late-date onset of the Leaf Rust. At first thought it was just a little spot on some trees, and it turned out to have spread most of the tenure before it could spray fungiside.

The carat of the leaf was Hemileia vastatrix, its spores spreading through the wind and most aggressive high humidity time. In Central America in 2012-2013 there was a major epidemic that hit 70% of the gardens in several countries and the total loss was estimated to be over a billion dollars according to FAO and ICA reports not small.

In Indonesia, in addition to the Leaf Rubber, a.k.a. Coffee Berry Borer (CBB) was also quietly disabled. This little bug drills in and lays eggs in it. From CABI's data, the global loss of CBB is approximately 500 million dollars a year.

The most frustrating thing: these two pests can come together and different treaties. Anyone ever get hurt? How does the real early detection work?

from years of experience, most effective for CBB. It wasn't a chemical spray first, it was fruit sanitation. CBB's life cycle is in seeds, so the fruit remains that are unharvested or falling into the ground is the source of infection for the next cycle. Clean botanical crops and gathering leftovers in the soil are fundamental. Many of these skip farmers are exhausting, but if that skip population never goes down.

to monitor CBB population before collateral damage, using alcohol traps is quite cheap and accurate. A mixture of ethanol and methanol in a certain ratio is attractive. There's research from CABI that proves this trap could detect a population surge of 3-4 weeks before the seed damage was seen. So you can spray on time, instead of being scheduled, which ends up extravagant and repetitive.

sorry about that. Is a lot of nitrogen fertilizer more vulnerable to the leaf rust? I've heard people say that but don't know the scientific basics.

that's right. High nitrogen makes fast vegetation, young leaves grow up, and those are the most vulgar ones to be target for Karat Daun. Avoid any forward nitrogen grooming or during the rainy season because of that window of the highest-grade leaf rust infection. balance between K and Ca is also essential to the thickness of the leaf cell wall.

several Sumatra areas of 2019-2020 have reported severe levels of carats. There's a garden that loses 40-50% of its production in one season. Which turned out to be more resistant. It's a garden that's been replanting some of its prints into tolerant varieties.
