connected ecosynstem between ZZZCF001Z-grinder?

vision-nya keren: roast profile di mesin roasting otomatis suggest grind setting di grinder dan brew parameter di espresso machine. semua terhubung, share data, optimize together.

kenyataannya yang gue lihat: masih sangat silo. software roasting tidak bicara sama grinder management system, grinder tidak feedback ke espresso machine, dan espresso machine punya app sendiri yang berdiri sendiri.

ada beberapa brand yang mulai claim "connected ecosystem" tapi kalau dibaca fine print-nya, connected-nya terbatas: bisa export data dari satu ke spreadsheet, lalu import manual ke yang lain. itu bukan connected, itu hanya data portability.

ada yang sudah experience beneran connected setup dimana data dari roasting beneran otomatis influence parameter di tahap selanjutnya?

there are two fundamental Challenge. First, the physical coffee properties of the same profile of the same roast can behave differently in grinder due to the bean rest factor, humidity, and temperature that day. So the roast profile to grind setting is not deterministic one-to-one. Second, standard communication protocol between device food service is still very fragmented.

some initiative is developing open protocol for connected coffee equipments. There's open source, there's consortium-driven. Same as MIDI. So standard for electronic instruments, coffee equipments need something similar. But the progress is slow because every vendor prefer lock-in.

from the engineering perspective of the system, connected the actual ecosynstem meaningful it requires a closed loop feedback, not just a one-way data sharing. means cupping result must be backwards influence roast profile suggestion. It takes a much more complex model than a data pipe.

we may need to be more humble about this expectations. Even the best barista in the world can't read espresso shots and directly love feedback to roaster as an actionable number. The process from seed to cup is too many variable human judgment still superior to the automatic system.

realistically it might not be fully connected autotomous, but assisted: systems that collect data from all points and presents to humans with more clear insight. decision remains in humans, but the information is more complete.

The Clorofile I'm trying on is a profile feature that links roast batch to the use of production plan. Not to the suggest level of brew parameters, but it's already one step further than pure silo. In the right direction, even though it's still far from a full surveillance connection.

i thought the connected ecosynstem was coming, but the cloud side wasn't from device side. all device upload data to the cloud platform, that platform is process and loves insight cross-device. more feasible than proprietary hardware integration that requires physical standards.

i'm skeptical as to whether this is necessary. that coffee special is artisanal. full automation of seeds to the cup may optimize consistency but remove one layer of skill and judgment that makes specialty different from commodity.

i agreed to some. connected ecosynstem for tracking and insight is okay. but if it gets automatic adjust without humans in the loop, it's probably too far for segment specialty.
