switch to roaster. Full electrical. That's realistic for operational roastric in Indonesia?

this topic is relevant right now because there's some new roaster that goes into the market with electrical heating technology replacing gas. No gas installations,

Counting the energy side: 1 kWh electricity is about 3,412 BTU. It means the need for power could be 12-18 kW just for healing element alone.

In Indonesia, the power of 12-18 kW takes at least 23,000 VA connections to the building. The cost of adding power could be significant, not to mention the cost of commercial costs that are not cheap.

Has anyone calculated the true TCO between gas versus electric gas for a 5-15-pound batch at the current state of the Indonesian power rate?

i tried the rough math. B-2's electric fare is now around Rp 1,4444-1,700 per k. that Zroasting is eight hours a day, 20 days a month, at 15 kW average, that pure electricity costs 3.4-4 million per month. LPG gas for the volume equivalent could be cheaper, but the price is volatile.

it's often forgotten: it's not just about operational costs, it's about precision control. The heating elements of electricity have a different response time as a gas burner. Not faster not slower, but it's a different feature and needs an adjustment on the roasting profile.

regulatory factors are also getting relevant. Some of the major cities in Indonesia started to rule emissions for the food processing industry. If there's a standard emission mandate, roaster gas will get additional compliance cost. Full electricity could be a long-term investment.

i have a question about her heat quality. the gas burner loves radiation heat plus the conference at once. the healing element is more of a confection. not in her cup quality@@?

there are some blind cupping studies that the SCA-affiliated labs do, results in no detectable difference in cup score between identical profiles that are run on electric gas. Different is how you develop the profile, not the meme.

from the safety perspective there's also a benefit. no gas lines, no risk leaks. for a roadtery operation in the ruko or a commercial building that wasn't designed for industrial gas, this could be elliminate one category of risk.

practical question: for the 23 kVA connection to the PLN is how long? If it takes three to six months of bureaucracy, it's a trade-off for the switch.
