AI in roasting machine is it really working or just sales pitch?

gue skeptis dari awal waktu mulai denger vendor pamer fitur AI di mesin roasting mereka. tapi makin lama makin banyak yang nyebut ini, jadi penasaran juga.

yang gue tau sejauh ini: kebanyakan "AI" yang dimaksud itu sebenernya machine learning model yang di-train dari data profil historis. bukan AI yang beneran autonomous. model itu suggest adjustment gas dan airflow berdasarkan pola di database internal.

masalahnya: database itu di-train dari kondisi spesifik, biji tertentu, cuaca tertentu, batch size tertentu. kalau kamu roasting jenis biji yang jauh dari dataset training-nya, rekomendasinya bisa keleset.

ada yang udah nyoba fitur kayak gini di lapangan? beneran kepake atau akhirnya manual lagi?

i once tried a demo of one of the vendors whose AI. claims time was tried in natural Ethiopian seeds which were somewhat outlier than their dataset, predictive curveting far away. The roadmaster's direct override manual. So far feel more like decision support tool than autopilot.

it's the frame. AI here more like supervised ML plus ruleIt's only natural that it was a vary. Which is more useful in logging and anomaly detequality.

from the operational perspective, which is actually the most useful. it's predictive of his convenience. there are some systems that can track wear pattern on mechanical components of sensor vibration and love alert before breakdown. for that alone, it's worth it.

to be honest I'm more interested in AI for QC postIf you can scan the seeds out of the machine and directly classify under or over, it's more concrete.

well this is more make-up sense for me too. The color sorting post- roast already has a system but it's expensive. If AI can drop that charge, it'll apply to a medium-scale effort.

the main problem: where's the traffic data from? if the closer-source vendor, if the data is thin, the model is oisy.

the point isn't whether Al works, but how long is the value? If it takes six months of local data training to start giving us a recommendation that's ok, it's not a product that can go straight to small businesses.
